Biography
Galileo de Besilu is sired by Prestigio de La Querencia who is Besilu Collection’s new revelation breeding stallion. Prestigio’s sire is Concierto de la Querencia, a son of Patrimonio del Ocho. Patrimonio was a Classic Fino stallion and prolific sire in Colombia of numerous Mundial and Colombian National Champions. Concierto is out of a mare by Zodiaco de Lusitania, which is an older bloodline that is becoming more desirable in horses in the show ring today.
The maternal lineage of Prestigio is extremely interesting; he is the son of the famous mare Colombiana, who is the daughter of Horizonte and Mil Sueños, both full siblings of Resplandor Tres. An interesting fact about Resplandor is that he is the sire of multi-Grand World Champion Fino Stallion, Joyero Tercero. Also worth mentioning on the pedrigree of Prestigio is the importance of Amadeus de Resorte Cuarto, which is one of the most influential breeding stallions from Colombia with more than 1900 offspring. He had been named Fuera de Concurso, Campeon de Campeones, Mejor Jefe de Raza and Mejor Caballo del Año (for five consecutive years) in Colombia, as well as Top 10 Sire for PFHA for many years.
The dam of Galileo de Besilu is Fortuna de Besilu. With having multiple Grand National Champion wins in Classic Fino she has proven herself in the show ring as a force to be reckoned with and she comes from excellent breeding. Her dam was an elegant Classic Fino mare, and she was sired by National Champion 4 year old Fino Colt, Maraquero deVitral LaRosa, who has appeared on the Top 10 Sire’s List for five consecutive years. Maraquero is the son of Vitral, and three time world champion, Maraquita la Rosa. Maraquita was a crowd favorite, and she was known for her extremely rapid footfall in the Fino gait.
This colt is already exhibiting talent in his Classic Fino gait. A true show prospect.
